As we're heading into the darkest time of the year, it may seem odd to be planning a trip to look at the lack of sun, but the time has come. The next total eclipse of the sun is less than five months away — March 29, 2006 — and this time you don't have to go to Antarctica or the middle of the Pacific to see it. It looks like Turkey is the easiest place to observe it from. If you've never seen a total solar eclipse before, believe me when I say you want to see this with your own eyes. (If you have, you already know you do!)

I'm going to start the planning discussion on my eclipse mailing list; if you're interested in joining us, drop me a note & I'll add you.
