Well, it took more than two months after fanlain and I got engaged, but we finally picked up fanlain's ring on Thursday. It's an orange sapphire, set within white gold. It took us a long time to decide on a type of stone and a setting that we would be happy with, and then even longer for the jeweler (Pavé) to find a stone of the right colour of orange, but we're very happy with the result. The ring has the inscription "l'amour", taken from the card that fanlain got me the day we got engaged, before she knew either that we were getting engaged or that we were going to Paris. We both thought it was appropriate.
