A lot of the jobs I'm applying to are asking me to fill out an affirmative action questionnaire, which asks my race and gender. I'm really torn as to whether to fill this form out or not. On one hand, I don't think it will do much harm: my race and gender are readily apparent by going to my webpage, and I think the main purpose of this data is to collect statistics about whether there is discrimination going on. On the other hand, it feels counterintuitive for me to explicitly specify my race and gender as a way to avoid discrimination. What's your opinion?
